Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet messes in one go and without the need to switch between devices. They can also reduce space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads from an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start manual will have you up and running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can is able to clean up a storm and also vacuums well. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you pick the kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
You can, for example request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation technology are excellent too and the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only issue is that the robot is known to smash into walls and objects at full speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will tell you precisely what the robot has completed, where it's going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.
The docking station features an LCD display that shows the need for maintenance for cleaning up debris and washing the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the water tank in a controlled manner, using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. You can also view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is well laid out and easily understood although we would like to be able distinguish between a vacuum only or mop and vacuum clean when examining a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's flagship robot vacuum and mop. The model of this year features two agitators built into its mopping pad. This increases the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity which allows it to remove smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.
This Roborock model, like the other two models I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by having a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It then can alter its direction in a way that is automatic and clean around them without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tried however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning mop button, which doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank is self-emptying, and the bin is auto-filling.
The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll have to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive on the market however, it comes with many extra features that distinguish it from. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and smaller dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is an excellent feature since it prevents the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. It's a system that we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and it could be a useful method of keeping your home cleaner for longer.
There are many options, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. her latest blog make these settings or use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also has many features that aren't offered on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks elegant and sophisticated.
